Indore Swine flu (H1N1) again took the life of a patient. A 79-year-old woman from Dhar district died on Tuesday. The treatment was going on in the MOH from February 26. Three consecutive deaths occurred in the MYH. While one day earlier the Health Minister had arrived there to take stock of the arrangements.


A 79-year-old woman from Raviadas town of Dhar was undergoing treatment for eight days in the MYH. Sample was sent to Bhopal on 27th February. The report was positive on March 1 but after two days the woman died on 4th March.


According to information received from the IDSP branch of the health department, 444 samples have been sent for this year so far. Of these, 74 patients reported positive. 57 patients are pending report. Report from Bhopal is yet to come. So far 23 patients have died.

Following the death of 54-year-old swine flu in the last 64 days due to this deadly disease, the number of sufferers in local hospitals has increased to 24. An official of the health department said on Wednesday that middle-aged patients infected with H1N1 took the last breath in a private hospital in the city on Tuesday.


The official said that since January 1, 77 patients of local hospitals have confirmed swine flu. Of these 24 people have died during treatment.

Indore, Mar 8 (PTI) H1N1 virus has claimed the lives of four womenin Indore, taking the death toll due to swine flu to 28 since January this year, an official said.

The women, who were in the age group of 27 to 63 years, died in different hospitals in the district over the last four days, a health department official said.

By combining this, 40 patients have died. Of these, 19 are residents of Indore. It is from 21 other districts. So far 134 patients have reported positive. Samples of 622 patients have been sent for examination.
