Pandit said 19 people, out of the 78 tested positive for swine flu have died in different city hospitals. Of them, nine had come from other districts for treatment here, she added.

Health Department Director K.L. Sahu told IANS that on Thursday two persons suffering from swine flu died in two Indore hospitals.

Bhopal, October 3: In the last three months of Madhya Pradesh, 111 people have died due to swine flu.

Madhya Pradesh's Health Director Dr. K. L. Sahu told PTI today that 111 people have died from swine flu from July 1 to October 2 and in the state from July 1, till now, 647 people have died in H1N1 Confirmed.

He said 44 out of 51 districts of the state are affected by swine flu.

Sahu said that this disease has spread in other states including Gujarat and Maharashtra. The Madhya Pradesh government is making great efforts to provide it with prevention and proper treatment.

Sahu said that 83 patients of Swine Flu are currently recruited in different hospitals of the state, out of which 47 are in government hospitals and 36 patients are admitted in private hospitals. 111 patients have died from this but all other patients are now recovering.

He said, currently the laboratory of Swine Flu investigation is in Jabalpur, Gwalior and AIIMS Bhopal.

According to information from different districts of the state, the maximum number of deaths in swine flu in the state is in Indore district. After this, this disease has taken life of 10 people in Bhopal district. Indore has recently been ranked number one in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan whereas Bhopal is the second largest.

He said that there are eight in Jabalpur district, seven in Damoh and Sehore, six in Sagar, five-five in Ujjain, Hoshangabad, Betul and Ratlam, four in Raisen, three in Balaghat, two in Murana, Shahdol and Sivni, Two and one affected person has died in 20 districts, including Jhabua, Mandsaur, Shivpuri and Satna.

Bhopal, Oct 3 Swine flu has claimed 111 lives in just over three month period in Madhya Pradesh, signalling that the H1NI influenza has become a serious health issue in the state.

"One hundred and eleven people have died due to swine flu in 94 days and 647 have tested positive for the H1N1 virus between July 1 and October 2 in Madhya Pradesh," state health director K L Sahu told PTI today.

He said swine flu prevalence has been found in 44, out of total 51 districts of Madhya Pradesh.

Forty-four patients died of the HINI virus infection from July 1 to September 7 (69 days), while 57 persons succumbed to the influenza from September 8 to October 2, according to the official figures of MP health department.

One middle-aged swine flu positive woman died while undergoing treatment on Monday, at Isolation ward of Government Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital (NSCBMCH).


Nodal Officer, Swine Flu, Dr Deepak Barkhade informed that one woman aged about 50 years, from Narsinghpur district died while undergoing treatment on Monday. She was brought in critical condition. Her platelets continued to decline and she died on Monday. She was given best medical treatment available at Government Medical College and Hospital.


He further informed that out of six swine flu patients undergoing treatment at Isolation Ward of Government Medical College, condition of two patients is critical. They both are on ventilator. We are trying our level best for their recovery. He further informed that out of five samples sent to the ICMR for confirmation of swine flu, report of one patient was found positive.


Government Medical College and Hospital administration confirmed that patients are giving best medicines. Soon they would recover. As per report from the District Nodal Officer, as many as 13 patients of district died while undergoing treatment at Government and private hospitals recognized for treatment of swine flu in the district in this year, including three from recognized private hospital. Out of this, four patients were from other districts.


On other hand, large number of swine flu suspects increased at private hospital OPDs. Civil Surgeon, Government Victoria Hospital, Dr A K Sinha in a public appeal said individuals have to take special care while going to public places and hospital, where the chances of infection is high as compared to other places.

Doctors and medical staff have been advised that medical staff should wear protective H1N1 masks to ensure their safety from the virus attack. Superintendent, NSCB Government Medical College and Hospital, Dr Rajesh Tiwari said arrangement for treatment of swine flu patients is at par with best in Government set up. ?In the isolation ward, we have three ventilators, which can be increased on demand. Emergency drugs like Efcorlin, Soda Bi Card, Adernaline, Atroipe and large number of other life-saving medical equipment, needed to save life of other people is also in use.
