Swine flu imunization, photo by FoNetTwo more patients in Macedonia died from swine flu complications at the Skopje-based clinic for infective diseases raising the death toll since the outbreak of the influenza to 23, Health Ministry reported.

One of the two fatalities was a 44-year-old man, who was admitted to hospital nearly a week ago with severe pneumonia. The second was a 42-year-old woman suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure, reads the Health Ministry press release.

Clinics across the country are currently treating some 140 swine flu patients, the press release states. Over 40 of them are children.

Although the number of newly infected gradually decreases, the ministry is warning that people must stay on high alert, exercising increased hygiene.
