Macedonia sees 3 more deaths connected to H1N1

Three more patients infected with the A(H1N1) flu have died in the Clinic for Infectious Diseases in Skopje in the past 24 hours. A 57-year old man from Bitola with cardiomyopathy and two women aged 71 and 75 from Skopje also struggling with cardiomyopathy and diabetes are the last three flu victims in Macedonia.
Director of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases Zvonko Milenkovic told reporters on Wednesday that the patients were in severe health condition when hospitalised.
33 people have been examined overnight, out of which nine patients have been admitted to hospital.
Since the onset of the pandemic, 609 patients have been treated in the clinic.
12 people have died as a result of the new flu in Macedonia thus far. This number is not alarming as Macedonia sees about 170 annual deaths connected to flu who before the H1N1 went unreported.
