The number of people currently hospitalised with COVID-19 is sixteen, with two patients in intensive care. 955 individuals have been discharged from hospital (including certain short-term stays).

Since the beginning of the crisis, Luxembourg has carried out a total of 185,322 tests (141,147 on residents, 44,175 on non-residents); currently there are 191 people known to be infected while 3,998 have reportedly recovered from COVID-19. The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 1.380.

Coronavirus continues spread with 75 new cases in weekend

The coronavirus pandemic continued to progress in Luxembourg with 75 new infections over the weekend, according to the latest figures from the health ministry.

A total of 224,953 tests were carried out in the Grand Duchy to date.

The number of deaths has remained unchanged at 110 since the end of May. There are now 22 people in hospital, with three of those in intensive care. This is an increase of six hospitalisations over the week.

Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has reported 37 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections from 8,082 tests carried out on Thursday; the published figures only include resident infection numbers, which have reached a total of 6,580 as of early evening on Friday 28 August 2020.

There have been 124 fatalities (no change since Thursday) resulting from the virus to date

  • 37 new cases in Luxembourg. Note: on Aug. 27 the Government has shifted to reporting resident-only cases. The total for the country, excluding non-residents - has been therefore reduced from 7,928 to 6,543
