? Idaho State animal health officials, in coordination with USDA APHIS Veterinary Services, implemented on 29 August 2008 the LPAI response plan, including quarantine, in accordance with the Idaho Initial State Response and Containment Plan for H5 and H7 LPAI.
? All enhanced surveillance activities have been completed.

- 3 km and 10 km (6.2 miles) surveillance zone:
-- No commercial flocks identified within the 10km surveillance zone (this zone is not a commercial poultry production zone in the United States).
-- One high risk game bird farm identified in 10km surveillance zone completed two rounds of negative AI testing. All test results negative for AI.
-- All backyard poultry in the 3km surveillance zone completed two rounds of AI testing. All test results were negative for AI.

- Enhanced surveillance of all epidemiological linked poultry yielded negative results for AI.

? Depopulation of the affected premises game birds began on 23 September and was completed on 25 September 2008.
? Cleaning and disinfection of affected premises was completed on 29 October 2008.

The low pathogenic avian influenza H5N8 detection event in Payette County (Idaho) was limited to one premises.
