• Epidemiological comments
  • The notifiable avian influenza (NAI) viral infection was detected on a duck farm during the intensified surveillance programme conducted on poultry farms surrounding the infected farms and identified as H5N2 strain by virus isolation.
  • Movement restriction was implemented on the infected farm.
  • The ducks were inspected as normal without clinical signs.
  • The results of virological tests and gene sequencing analysis confirmed this LPAI H5N2 outbreak.
  • The clinical and epidemiological investigations of surrounding poultry farms were conducted.
  • No other case or evidence of infection was detected.
  • Movement restriction on this index farm was lifted according to the negative results of follow-up tests.
