- The results of clinical findings and following pathogenicity assays from the index farm confirmed the virulence of the virus being low pathogenic.
- First round of clinical health investigations and intensified surveillance of the surrounding poultry farms were done, and one H7N3 case was identified on 7 April 2011 and subsequently reported to OIE on 11 April 2011.
- As to this index farm, the follow-up sampling and testing were accomplished, and the results of serological and virological (RT-PCR test and virus isolation) tests obtained on 14 April 2011 were all negative.
- Note by the OIE Animal Health Information Department: H5 and H7 avian influenza in its low pathogenic form in poultry is a notifiable disease as per Chapter 10.4. on avian influenza of the Terrestrial Animal Health Code (2010).
