    • Disposal of carcasses by a method of on-site composting is underway at infected premises NAI-2010-MB-001.
    • Cleaning and disinfection of this premises will follow.
    • The NCFAD has completed the intravenous pathogenicity index evaluation of the notifiable avian influenza virus isolated at the infected premises.
    • The IVPI is 0 and this is the final confirmation of the low pathogenicity of this virus.
    • As a result of trace in / trace out investigations conducted by the CFIA, four epidemiologically linked premises were identified and quarantined.
    • These premises are two turkey breeders farms, one mixed poultry farm (commercial production turkey and chicken table egg layer) and one commercial hatchery, all located in the province of Manitoba.
    • Samples from all these premises were collected by the CFIA.
    • All results were negative and there's no indication of the presence of notifiable avian influenza virus on those premises.
    • Surveillance activities continue.
    • All eggs and poults at the commercial hatchery were destroyed.
