Low-Path Bird Flu Found in South Korea

Ducks have tested positive for low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) in the far south of the country.

The veterinary authority sent an Immediate Notification dated 21 May to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

The report states that during routine surveillance, ducks at two farms in the region of Cholla-Namdo tested positive for LPAI. The sub-type of the virus has subsequently been identified at H7N7. All 53,300 birds on the farms have been destroyed.
