Vitamin D deficiency can also lead to many problems, leading to an early death, finds a new study based on gene analysis. It involved 96,000 participants from large-scale population studies in Denmark.
The researchers found a casual relationship between increased mortality and low vitamin D levels. To know about the relationship, the study researchers assessed vitamin D levels by measuring blood samples from the studies and also assessed specific genetic defects.
The participants were followed for mortality from 1976 until 2014. Shoaib Afzal, medical doctor at Herlev Hospital, Copenhagen University Hospital in Denmark, was of the view, "We can see that genes associated with low Vitamin D levels involve an increased mortality rate of 30 percent and, more specifically, a 40 percent higher risk of cancer-related deaths"...
