Flu outbreak becomes apparent

But no more. Doctors and state health department officials told FOX 8 News that confirmed cases of influenza are on the rise and flu season does not wind down until about April.<O></O>

In the Metairie office of Allergist and Immunologist David Schneider, M.D., more patients are presenting with flu like symptoms.<O></O>

"We are starting to see an up-tick in cases right now, so its among us, and I understand our neighboring states, Mississippi, and Alabama are showing some of the highest cases now reported in the country," said Dr. Schneider.
