I recall vaguely that there are World Trade rules that more or less require the use of centrally produced seed grain produced by the big agrocompanies, that has to be bought from them each year. This seed grain is used the world over, including africa etc.
I find myself wondering how robust this production is? And if export supplies may be vulnerable (presuming it is all produced in a single location) in a pandemic. Anyone know more about this?
