Vaduz (ots) - So far, a total of 81 people who live in Liechtenstein have tested positive for COVID-19. The government continues to do everything possible to prevent the uncontrolled spread of the coronavirus and thus overload the healthcare system.

For parents who have no childcare facilities during the period of closure of the public and private educational institutions, as well as outside childcare facilities and playgroups, emergency support is still offered in cooperation between the Office for Social Services and the School Office. The offer is aimed at parents who have to work and have absolutely no other childcare options. The corresponding application form is available at www.regierung.li/coronavirus. Alternatively, the school office hotline is still available at +423 236 70 40.

Recommendations for particularly vulnerable people remain

Vaduz (ots) - The government decided last week that a first set of measures taken in response to the corona virus will be eased from April 27, 2020. The easing in no way means that the danger posed by the corona virus has been averted. Because older people and people with previous illnesses are particularly at risk, the protection of this group is still of great importance. A consistent implementation of hygiene measures and a limitation of social contacts are still required.

So far, a total of 81 people who live in Liechtenstein have tested positive for COVID-19. The government continues to do everything possible to prevent the uncontrolled spread of the coronavirus and thus overload the healthcare system.

Keep social contacts to a minimum

The government still recommends that people over 65 and those with pre-existing conditions generally stay at home, except in the case of a doctor's visit. Exercise in the fresh air, for example a walk, is of course still possible and advisable. However, this should be done alone or with a person living in the same household and at a sufficient distance from other people. Crowds of people should be avoided and the minimum distance of two meters should be observed.

Contact with grandchildren

The government is aware that the existing recommendations for particularly vulnerable people are becoming an increasing burden. Your daily life and important social contacts are severely restricted. Consistent compliance with the recommendations is still important. It must also be ensured that a droplet infection can be excluded. When meeting other people, ensure that there is sufficient distance. This is very difficult when dealing with young children. Grandchildren should therefore still refrain from visiting their grandparents. If visits are not neglected, they should take place at a sufficient distance, for example in the garden.

The government has eased a first set of measures in response to the corona virus this week. This allowed hospitals to carry out all the interventions again, and outpatient medical practices as well as hairdressing, massage and cosmetic studios to start operating again. In addition, all shops and markets are allowed to open again. Those companies that are allowed to reopen must minimize the transmission risk and have a protection concept. The government reiterates that it is now of the utmost importance that these protection concepts are consistently implemented and adhered to. Otherwise the success of the previous measures will be jeopardized.

Government will announce further easing of COVID-19 measures on Thursday

Vaduz (ots) - So far, a total of 82 people who live in Liechtenstein have tested positive for COVID-19. The government continues to do everything possible to prevent the uncontrolled spread of the coronavirus and thus overload the healthcare system.

The Ministry of Society announced on Wednesday that the ban on visits to health care facilities, such as the state hospital and retirement and nursing homes, will be extended until May 10, 2020. If the situation permits, from 11 May 2020, a relaxed relaxation of the ban on visits, which is adapted to the situation, is envisaged with strict accompanying and hygiene measures. Until then, the management of the respective institution can approve exceptions to the ban on visits in factually justified cases.

The government will report on a further media easing and the way forward on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. No media inquiries will be answered until then.

There are 38 women and 44 men among the 82 people. The average age of the people is 45 years. The people are spread across all eleven municipalities in Liechtenstein.
