NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Legendary musician John Prine is hospitalized in critical condition with the coronavirus, his family said Sunday, March 29.

The family said he was hospitalized on Thursday, March 26 with a “sudden onset of COVID-19 symptoms.” He was intubated on Saturday night...

John Prine has died after a battle with COVID-19. He was 73.

The singer-songwriter's family confirmed the news to Rolling Stone.

Prine's battle with the worldwide pandemic-causing coronavirus was first reported via his official Twitter account on March 29. "After a sudden onset of COVID-19 symptoms, John was hospitalized on Thursday (3/26),” his family's post read. “He was intubated Saturday evening, and continues to receive care, but his situation is critical.” Doctors upgraded Prine to stable condition on March 30.
