Lankan dies of swine flu in Saudi hotel

The Health Ministry in Saudi Arabia confirmed that the Sri Lankan who died in a hotel room in Riyadh Monday had died of swine flu.
Mohammed Mafaz Mohammed Saleem, a resident of the UAE who came to the Kingdom on business died at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Qasr Al-Nasseriyah after nine days of stay in the hotel.
Initial medical reports issued by the hospital authorities on Tuesday morning, said the death was due to cardiac failure. However, in the evening when the throat and nose swabs tests conducted at the central laboratory revealed that it was due to H1N1.
Sri Lankan Embassy Charge d'affaires Sabarullah Khan said the death certificate that was delivered to the Lankan Government cited the cause of death as a heart attack.
It is really shocking to hear that the death was due to H1N1, Khan said.
