May 13, Jiangxi people infected with H7N9 bird flu Xu cured, Jiangxi two cases of human infection of H7N9 avian influenza patients with rehabilitation.
Patients, 31 years old, due to sustained high fever, cough, and chest tightness associated with shortness of breath and other symptoms, hospitalization on April 27 to the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, April 28 Group of Experts diagnosis of human infection of H7N9 avian flu in cases diagnosed as severe pneumonia, respiratory failure.
Patients admitted to hospital in critical condition, breathing more rapid decline in oxygen saturation, and respiratory distress syndrome. The provincial medical treatment expert group once again organize consultation, immediate implementation of endotracheal intubation and treatment, members of the Group of Experts and doctors on duty 24 hours, close observation, timely adjustment of ventilator parameters. Patients during disease progression has three times by experts timely consultation and rescue, adjust the treatment plan, the condition gradually improved stability.
May 6 patients extubated, nasal oxygen catheter, after close observation, oxygen saturation and vital signs were stable.
May 13, after repeated patient specimens of human infection with the H7N9 avian influenza virus nucleic acid detection were negative. The patient's vital signs stable, there is no obvious discomfort, eating and sleeping properly. I find it unusual that case 4, the 31F was extubated on the 6-May-13 and then soon afterwords met discharge requirements "recovery" on the 8-May-13 as describe in Zhou and others et al. 2013
