April Truitt, the founder and executive director of Jessamine County's Primate Rescue Center, says she believes the monkey is a research animal because of the number tattooed on its stomach.
She estimates that the monkey is about 10 years old and that, due to him only weighing about 40% of what he should weigh as an adult, that he had been in the wild for some time.
