Louisville man dies of West Nile Virus

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville man becomes the first victim this season of the West Nile Virus. The 80-year old died a week ago after a two week illness. Health officials say it is rare to have serious complications or death from West Nile, but it happened to Laura Suggs' stepfather, Don Shields.

Kentucky had previously reported only one human case in 2010.
