OLATHE, Kansas (KCTV) — A tuberculosis exposure in Olathe may be much larger than originally thought. The Johnson County Health Department says at least 425 people need to be tested.
The exposures happened at Olathe Northwest High School. Thursday night, the school held a meeting to talk about how testing will work. However, the school district did not allow media into the meeting, saying it was for “parents only.”...

A Johnson County health department official confirmed Tuesday that four more people tested positive for tuberculosis at Olathe Northwest High School after a student tested positive earlier this month. The spokesperson for the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment would not say whether the new cases are students or staff.
Earlier this month, health officials identified 425 close contacts of the first active case that need to be tested. So far, only 273 of those contacts have been tested.
The district did not immediately respond to questions about the new cases...

Six people have now tested positive for Tuberculosis after contact with an Olathe Northwest High School student who first tested positive with an active case.
According to the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, the additional positive tests come nearly two months after the active TB infection was first diagnosed early in October.
Health officials say the six new positive tests were found among 314 possible contacts tested for the disease. Those who tested positive are currently all asymptomatic.
