Kenya pledges 1 mln USD to stem Ebola in West Africa

NAIROBI, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta said Tuesday the government will donate 1 million U.S. dollars to help in the fight against Ebola in West African countries where the epidemic has killed more than 2,000 people.
Kenyatta said in a statement issued in Nairobi that the funds will be released to Sierra Leon, Guinea and Liberia.
The president said that Ebola outbreak is unprecedented in "size, complexity and the strain it has imposed on health systems. "
