Livestock quarantine imposed in Naivasha after disease outbreak

The Ministry of Livestock has banned livestock movement in Naivasha District following an outbreak of foot and mouth disease.
Issuing the ban, Naivasha District Veterinary Officer Dr Peterson Njiru said that two out of five divisions in the District are affected by the disease.
He pointed out Central and Kongoni Divisions as some of the areas where the outbreak had been reported. Other areas affected are Kasarani, Maela, Gatamaiyu and Ndabibi.
