Kenyans travelling to India will from next month be expected to take polio vaccine six weeks before they board their flight.

This directive follows a decision by the government of India which requires Kenyans visiting the Asian country to be fully vaccinated against polio.

Kenya Airways, the national carrier has issued a notice to its clients to this effect.

"All travellers from Kenya will now be required to have in their possession a written record of vaccination (patient-retained record) for polio, preferably using IHR 2005 International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis from a hospital or centre administering OPV that is authorised by the Government of the Republic of Kenya," read a statement from Kenya Airways to customers...
