Oldham County Schools announces 3 days of NTI due to 'widespread illness'

​LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Oldham County Schools will operate on NTI on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday — Feb. 4-6 — due to "widespread illness" in the district.​

"Now that we're doing more testing, this isn't something we tested for decades ago, now that we're doing more testing, we're more aware of these viruses and transmission patterns," Phillips said. "It can be a short incubation period of a couple of days, before symptoms present and when you test positive."

Some local health officials are referring to the flu, COVID, RSV and norovirus as a "quad-demic."

Louisville health department, local schools seeing sharp increase in flu cases


LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentuckiana is getting slammed with sickness in the past few days.

Around 1,200 people have confirmed cases of the flu in Louisville, according to Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness, the most flu cases Louisville has reported so far this winter. It ties the number seen from the last week of December, following holiday gatherings.​
