H1N1 death in Bidar


Officials have confirmed the first H1N1 death of the district this year. Rajkumar Shivaraya (42), a farmer from Janti village in Bhalki taluk, died of multi-organ failure on February 26. He had contracted H1N1 that is spreading in the form of seasonal influenza. He had been unsuccessfully treated by various private hospitals and died in the district hospital, health and family welfare officers said.

Surveillance
Cases reported from Village Kondali, PHC/CHC
Doddaguni, Taluk Gubbi. District RRT
investigated the outbreak. House to house survey
done. Out of 3 throat swabs tested at MCVR,
Manipal 2 were positive for Influenza B. All cases
treated symptomatically. Health education given.

Cases reported from Village Bargehalli,
PHC/CHC Yalanadu, Taluk C.N. Halli. District
RRT investigated the outbreak. House to house
survey done. Out of 3 throat swabs tested at
MCVR, Manipal 2 were positive forH3N2. All
cases treated symptomatically. Health education
given.
