Hundreds of Kapuas Having Diarrhea

KUALA KAPUAS, KOMPAS.com - Patients with diarrheal diseases clinic based on the entire report in Kapuas District, Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan) amounted to 333 people in August 2009 increased compared to that recorded in July 132 people.
"Increasing the number was based on reports from each of the existing health centers, while for September have not been reported by the clinic," said Head of Kapuas District Health Office, Dr. Annie Handaningroem, in a press conference in Kuala Kapuas, Wednesday.

Sub Basarang, he said, is the area most of the 142 diarrhea patients who are examined at a local clinic.
The disease has symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting and bowel frequency increases caused by bacteria, and the consequences of consuming water that is not healthy, he said.
Efforts that have been conducted by the Department of Health Kapuas, including by distributing oralit and intravenous fluids to each clinic to deal with diarrhea.
Department has appealed to people who have symptoms of diarrhea, to immediately go to health facilities and existing facilities and do not be late.
"We've appealed to people afflicted by diarrhea to seek treatment immediately to the nearest health services," he said.
In addition, residents are also asked more vigilant to avoid this disease, by maintaining cleanliness and consume clean water and not salty, "said Dr. Annie Handaningroem.
