The number of H1N1 (swine) flu-related deaths in the Kingdom has risen to seven, Director of the Health Ministry's Primary Healthcare Directorate Adel Bilbeisi said Monday.
The latest two victims were a 41-year-old woman from Zarqa Governorate and another pregnant woman from Irbid Governorate, according to Bilbeisi.
In a press conference yesterday, the health official said there are three swine flu patients in critical condition out of 40 currently in the country?s hospitals.
He added that the ministry has spent about JD30 million to combat the disease since the discovery of the first case in Jordan last June.
According to Bilbeisi, the overall number of swine flu cases stood at 2,217 as of Monday.
He told the press that swine flu cases have been registered in all the Kingdom's governorates except for Tafileh and Aqaba, adding that the majority of cases were in Amman, Zarqa and Irbid.
