Jaundice rages in Makwanpur

MAKAWANPUR: Over 25 persons have been diagnosed with jaundice following the rise in temperature in two remote VDCs in Makawanpur district, it was reported on Monday.
The affected are mostly from the Chepang and Tamang communities and have been suffering from the disease that broke out in Chepang settlements in Bharta and Kalaikatar VDCs for a week, locals said.
The disease has spread in Kothalitar, Bastal, Nimkha and Keranyam of Bharta-8 and Ghusarang of Kalikatar-9, said Mahesh Chepang, a local social worker.
The pregnant wife of Tika Chepang of Bharta-8 lost her life a month ago after suffering from the disease.
