A House of Councilors committee endorsed Thursday amendments to legislation authorizing forcible quarantine and hospitalization of patients of new types of influenza.
The amendments to the infectious diseases law and the quarantine law are expected to be enacted Friday by clearing the plenary session of the upper house. The House of Representatives has already approved the amendments.:tiphat:
