Heavy rainfall feared in western Japan through Sat.

TOKYO (Kyodo) -- The national weather agency warned Friday of heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder through Saturday in western Japan in Pacific coastal areas and the Tokai region, while landslides are feared in some areas of the Kii Peninsula, an area already hit by heavy rains caused by Typhoon Talas last month.......

Landslide lake in western Japan overflowing

A river in western Japan that was dammed up by a tropical storm last month is overflowing. The land ministry is calling on municipalities downstream to stay alert for the possibility of mudslides.....
