By Naoko Fujimura

Aug. 25 (Bloomberg) -- At least 712 Japanese schools had flu outbreaks during the nation?s summer vacation as students and teachers participated in club activities, the Yomiuri newspaper said.

More than 2,400 students and teachers caught viruses including swine flu, the report said, citing a nationwide survey of public and some private schools. Okinawa prefecture, Japan?s southernmost islands, had the most schools affected with 115, followed by 99 in Kanagawa prefecture near Tokyo, the report said.
