Fujifilm to enter biosimilars drug joint venture
Fujifilm Corp. and Kyowa Hakko Kirin Co. will establish a joint venture in the spring of 2012 to develop highly reliable, high-quality and competitive products in the fast-growing biosimilars market, it was announced Nov. 16.

TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Fujifilm Corp. and Kyowa Hakko Kirin Co. said Wednesday they will form a 50-50 joint venture next spring to produce biosimilars, or drugs similar to biopharmaceuticals made after the patent expirations for the latter.
