and re-examined

H7 was negative
however, H5 was undetectable at 07:00 AM
specimens transferred to Tottori University
part of park and 39 entrances closed after task force meeting

Yamaguchi prefecture inspects 59 farms within a radius of 10 km from the park
more than 100 chickens: 9 farms
under 100 chickens: 50 farms

black swan transferred to central livestock hygiene service centre at 11:50 AM
simple test was positive at 12:15 PM
genetic test started at 13:30 PM

Hundreds of swans culled on bird flu find

Local authorities in southwestern Japan are culling hundreds of birds at a park after bird flu was detected in a black swan there.

Ube City in Yamaguchi Prefecture decided to destroy 400 mute swans....

.....Ube Mayor Kimiko Kubota says it was a pity to lose something so valuable and adored by the citizens, but that she hopes people will understand they had no choice if they were to prevent the spread of the virus.
