Osaka Man Infected With Measles After Vietnam Trip
Health officials urge caution after exposure at local hospital amid growing measles cases.

In a concerning public health announcement, Osaka Prefecture disclosed on March 23, 2025, that a man in his 30s from Yao City has contracted measles, posing a significant health risk to the community due to the highly contagious nature of the disease. The man, who had recently traveled to Vietnam before showing symptoms, was confirmed to have developed measles on March 16, displaying a variety of symptoms including pneumonia, a rash, Koplik's spots, fever, and persistent cough.

As of now, the man is recuperating at home, but he raised alarms during a visit to Yao City Municipal Hospital on March 21 from noon to 1 PM. The hospital visit raises concerns over potential exposure for others during that timeframe. Authorities are urging anyone who visited the hospital on that day and subsequently experiences fever or rash symptoms before April 11 to contact their healthcare provider immediately for advice before seeking treatment...
