[h=1]Two cases of H1N1 flu detected in Jammu and Kashmir[/h] Two cases of H1N1 Influenza have been reported in Jammu and Kashmir, prompting the government to step up measures in place to tackle the flu.
The Jammu and Kashmir Health department collected 43 samples of suspected H1N1 patients on Friday, out of which two turned out to be positive.

?We collected 43 samples of suspected H1N1 patients in Jammu and Kashmir yesterday. Of these two are positive and 31 negative and reports of 10 samples are awaited?, a senior officer of the Health department said.

[h=1]First ?SWINE FLU? death in Kashmir[/h] The State Health authorities on Friday issued an advisory on H1N1 influenza (Swine Flu) following a death of a patient who had tested positive for the virus. While authorities asserted that there was no need to panic, they however stressed on the need to exercise caution.
The 43-year old man from south Kashmir (name withheld), who had tested positive for H1N1 influenza and had developed Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) died at the SMHS hospital on December 21, sources told Greater Kashmir.
