The Analytical and Clinical Sensitivity of the 3MTM Rapid Detection Influenza A&B Assay.

Dale SE, Mayer C, Mayer MC, Menegus MA. - Departments of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and Microbiology and Immunology, and Clinical Virology Laboratory, University of Rochester Medical Center, Rochester, NY 14642.

The performance of the 3M(TM) Rapid Detection Influenza A&B (3M(TM) Flu) assay was compared to other immunochromatographic assays.

The 3M(TM) Flu assay was superior to BinaxNOW(R) and Directigen(TM) EZ assays and equivalent to the QuickVue(R) assay for clinical and analytical performance.

The 3M(TM) Flu assay offers an objective output and direct linkage to laboratory information systems.
