Vinikoor M, Stevens J, Nawrocki J, Singh K. - Department of Medicine, Department of Microbiology, Rush University Medical Center, Illinois Department of Public Health.

We assessed the performance of Luminex xTAG RVP for subtyping 113 seasonal influenza A specimens from 2007-09 and 176 pandemic A/H1N1 specimens. The sensitivity of Luminex xTAG RVP for subtyping seasonal A/H1N1 and A/H3N2 was 100% and 82% respectively. An unsubtypable influenza A result had a PPV of 95.5% for pandemic A/H1N1.
