2*Epidemiological Update: Human, animal

As of September 12 2013 23 human cases of West Nile virus neuroinvasive disease (WNND) have been reported from the Veneto, Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy Regions. Of these, two had fatal outcome.

Summer fevers surveillance activity confirmed 19 cases of West Nile Fever in the Regions of Veneto (9 cases), and Emilia-Romagna (10 cases).
