A massive fish die-off is ongoing in Venice Lagoon as reported by the local media.
High temperatures and lack of winds are possibly among the cause of the die-off, because of the low level of oxygen in seawaters.
A foul stench emanating from fishes went into Venice canals are badly hurting both residents and tourists.
According local health authorities it should be not a source of danger for population, but locals should not eat the dead fishes (sic!).
Further investigation are ongong in order to clarify the exact extent of the die off and the causes.
