Dead cranes in the province of Vicenza, killed by avian influenza

A crane died due to avian influenza in the fields on the border with Bolzano Vicentino. Controls and checks are started on the people who manipulated it. A bird on the ground, in the middle of the fields. He barely moved, he didn't take flight again. This is the report that arrived in recent days in Alveare, the group of animal rights and environmental volunteers who are responsible for the recovery of wild animals throughout the province of Vicenza. «After having expanded the search area, hidden in the grass, we found two other lifeless cranes 30 meters away from the first. The problem is that these birds have been preyed upon by other animals and it is a virus that can also reach humans.'

Duck found positive for avian flu in the Po Delta: the Region raises the alarm for Polesine farms

ROVIGO - A well-founded alarm, raised by a widgeon. The enemy is called highly pathogenic avian influenza. And the wigeon is one of the wild birds, a duck to be precise, that the surveillance network found positive for the virus in the Delta on November 3. On November 11, however, a similarly infected mallard was found in the Lower Veronese area. And precisely in that area an outbreak also broke out in a meat turkey farm, in Minerbe, which follows the other three outbreaks discovered in as many poultry farms in Sant'Urbano, i.e. a stone's throw from Badia, Lendinara, Lusia and Rovigo. These are the first four outbreaks discovered throughout Italy with the new surveillance plan launched this autumn. All within a few kilometers. With Polesine in the 'red zone'.
