Coronavirus, English variant discovered in one fifth of Italian cases
About one in five positive cases carry the English variant. The Regions yesterday sent the results of the extraordinary check carried out on 3 and 4 February to the ministry and the Higher Institute of Health. In those two days they deepened the analyzes on about 3,600 positive tests to understand precisely how many were affected by the English variant of the coronavirus.
The result of the extraordinary research shows a rather high average figure, with strong variations in the Regions. In fact, the variant circulates mainly in the center of the country, as was already known in part, that is, between Umbria, Marche, Abruzzo, Emilia and Tuscany, which have higher than average percentages.
