Italy - Cagliari: Dead peacocks discovered (H5)

Monte Urpinu park in Cagliari closed due to avian flu. The discovery of several dead peacocks in the green lung of the Sardinian capital had triggered the alarm. Yesterday, the municipal veterinarian immediately notified the ASL colleagues and those of the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Sardinia, who recovered the carcasses to perform autopsies. Today came the verdict: Avian influenza (Ia) type A subtype H5. 'Starting from the day of November 5, 2022 inclusive and up to a date to be decided, the Monte Urpinu Park will be closed for hygienic-sanitary reasons, according to the sanitary provision of the competent ASL', now announces the Municipality.
