The IzsVe Avian Influenza Reference Center has confirmed 64 outbreaks of HPAI H5 avian influenza in Italy. About sixty are in the province of Verona, two outbreaks in as many farms in the province of Padua, in the areas of Este and Lozzo Atestino.
It is a breeding of turkeys for meat (about 20 thousand heads) and a breeding of laying hens (600,000 heads). Another outbreak had been confirmed in recent days in Ostia.

Outbreaks of avian flu are increasing in the province of Verona, rising to 67. Verona is in fact the province most affected by the epidemic.
