A Padua neighborhood resident died on Friday (Jul 19) after contracting a fatal from of Legionnaire's disease.
The man, a 69 years old retired, was on Holiday in Sud Tyrol when developed pneumonia with rapid progression. After being hospitalized in a Bruneck hospital, he was trasferred at Padua hospital for intensive care.
Despite advanced care and antibiotics treatment, the patient died because of the complications of the disease.
The initial symptoms had onset at the beginning of July this year and the source of the infection is not known so far.
