09/11/2017 ? On 6 November, IZSLER confirmed as positive for Avian Influenza A virus subtype H5 a fattening turkey farm in Brescia province (Lombardy region). At the time of confirmation, about 19,360 female turkeys were housed in the farm. Samples were taken after an increase in mortality was observed on 2 November.
On 6 November, IZSLER confirmed as positive for Avian Influenza A virus subtype H5 a laying hen farm in Brescia province (Lombardy region). At the time of confirmation, the farm housed 37,700 birds. In one shed out of three, birds were reared free range. On 3 November, an increase in mortality was observed in the free range shed and reported to the Veterinary Services.
On 8 November, the viruses isolated in the outbreaks 65-70 were characterized by the National Reference Laboratory for Avian Influenza and Newcastle Disease as Avian Influenza A virus subtype H5N8.
On the same day, IZSLER confirmed as positive for Avian Influenza A virus subtype H5 a laying hen breeder farm in Brescia province (Lombardy region). About 29,800 birds, reared free range, were present in the farm. Samples were taken after an increase in mortality was observed on 7 November.
