Two new cases of measles have been detected in what appears to be a limited measles outbreak in Israel, which began in September.

The Health Ministry is aware of twenty reported cases of the disease in recent months, including two in the Haifa region, six in the north, ten in Tel Aviv, one in Netanya and one in Jerusalem.

The two new cases concern unvaccinated brothers from Haifa who appear to have been infected during a stay abroad. One of the brothers used Metronit public transport on January 25. He boarded Metronit Line 4 at Hof Carmel Central Station in Haifa at 3:30 p.m. and got off at Tzabar Junction in Kiryat Bialik.
