Cases of COVID-19 linked to Iran are a “worrisome” sign that the world may be running out of time to contain the outbreak of novel coronavirus disease, the World Health Organization said Friday.

But how? What will it take to contain and stop the disease before considered a pandemic? And how realistic is the expectation to do so?

All I hear is call for money and resources - not strategy. What is the strategy? What information do they have about the virus that leads them to believe it can be contained? If we can contain this one, can we also contain influenza?

isolate Qom (Iran) like China had isolated Wuhan. It worked.
Flu is more contagious on droplets, aerosoles, corona more on hands, touching your face
It may work for flu, IMO (despite of what all the modelings say)
but maybe not worth it with the low CFR.
And how do you detect new dangerous flu strains early ?
And one flu suppresses another one ... is Mexflu worse than H1N1(77-08) ?
