The University of Iowa is asking students to be sure their vaccinations are all up-to-date after six cases of the mumps have been reported among students in the last couple of weeks.

IOWA CITY, Iowa ? University of Iowa officials say close to 5,000 students were vaccinated against the mumps during recent free clinics held on campus.

The vaccine helps protect against three diseases: measles, mumps and rubella ? also known as MMR. According to the university, about 4,800 students received the booster during eight free clinics held from November 10 through the 18...

Three cases of the mumps have been confirmed in Warren County with an additional case "probable" based on symptoms, according to Jodene DeVault, director of the Warren County Health Department.

County health officials had said they had possible cases of the mumps before Christmas, but those cases now have been confirmed by lab results...

INDIANOLA, Iowa ?Before Christmas, the University of Iowa was dealing with an outbreak of mumps among more than 100 students. The university vaccinated 5,000 students to stop the spread.

Now as students return to class Indianola Schools are discovering mumps cases in their students.

The first case at Indianola High School was discovered at the end of December. Since then, seven students were diagnosed with mumps or a similar illness...

An outbreak of mumps at the University of Northern Iowa seems to be lingering alongside winter weather.

New cases continue to be reported at the university, located in Cedar Falls, with UNI officials encouraging students to not go to class, sit for exams, go to work, eat at dining centers, attend meetings or otherwise put themselves in social gatherings if they suspect they might have the mumps...

Woodbury County tallies first case of mumps since 2010

SIOUX CITY | Woodbury County recently recorded its first case of mumps in six years.

Siouxland District Health Department deputy director Tyler Brock said he couldn't provided any details about the case.
