Influenza virus activity in the world, 22 July 2013
Source: Laboratory confirmed data from the Global Influenza Surveillance and Response System (GISRS).
Based on FluNet reporting (as of 22 July 2014, 08:15 UTC), during weeks 26 to 27 (23 June 2013 to 6 July 2013), National Influenza Centres (NICs) and other national influenza laboratories from 74 countries, areas or territories reported data.
The WHO GISRS laboratories tested more than 25 655 specimens.
1676 were positive for influenza viruses, of which 1362 (81.3%) were typed as influenza A and 314 (18.7%) as influenza B.
Of the sub-typed influenza A viruses, 753 (63.7%) were influenza A(H1N1)pdm09, 417 (35.3%) were influenza A(H3N2), and 10 (1.0%) were influenza A(H3N2)v.
Of the characterized B viruses, 13 (86.7%) belong to the B-Yamagata lineage and 2 (13.3%) to the B-Victoria lineage.
