SHANGHAI reported a record low of 17,780 cases of serious infectious diseases last year, a 14.44 percent drop from 2009, the Shanghai Health Bureau announced yesterday.
No outbreak of serious infectious diseases and no serious public health events inside the World Expo Park took place last year. All imported cases of infectious diseases and potential epidemics were detected and controlled in a timely manner, health officials said.
